  3. JMJ,

Making fun of Christians or any religion is like shooting fish in a barrell. These higher than mighty mother fuckers run around telling us all how we should live while they get their rocks off on smut, drugs, children and every other fucking thing they tell us is bad.

Just too easy!!!!!!!! But hey, make sure you’re in Church on Sunday or you’re going to hell!

  4. Just bear in mind there are a lot of people who actually practice faith, not hypocrisy. It’s the ones who use religion as a means to get power, wealth or fame that give the rest of us a black eye.

  5. Well, Jet, in all fairness, I agree with you but just as all the right wingers run around demanding that the mullahs of the world denounce terrorism, I wish for once enough Christians would stand up and take back their religion from these bigots, racists and child molestors.

  6. I think too that one problem with religion is that many of the more arbitrary morals run counter to our basic humanity.  Perhaps if this guy didn’t have so many hang-ups, he wouldn’t have done what he did the way he did it.

The problem with faith, is that part of it IS hypocrisy.  It IS hypocritical to believe in something that flys in the face of logic.  It IS hypocritical to pick and choose which parts of your faith you are going to follow.  It IS hypocritical  to believe one thing and act in a way that runs contrary to that belief.  There may be many good religious people, but they are all hypocritical to one extent or another.  Not that I’m not hypocritical sometimes myself.

  7. Jersey you have you own cult religion. The religion of "Hate".

  8. All I’m saying is that for every loud mouth out there, Steve O, there are hundreds, if not thousands of people quietly going about their own business and practicing their faith. Just don’t paint us all with the same brush.

Jersey, you’re just as strident, but in an opposite direction. Hold fast to your stand, by all means, but it’s really not fair to link faithfu l people to somebody like Pat Robertson, and declare us all stupid. Each person gets to choose. You choose logic; I choose faith. Well, logic and faith aren’t the same thing. You’re argument is that since faith can’t be measured by your standard, it’s hypocrisy. That’s no different than Robertson saying if you don’t subscribe to Jesus, you’ll burn in hell. They are both arguments demanding complete capitulation  , which is why they don’t work.

  9. My arguement against faith is that it kills people. I believe it does that because the sheer stupidy of it forces people to act irrational to prove that they are right. Let’s take  Thou shall not kill ( or murder depending on your bible).  Yet these people who say they believe this go to war and support capital punishment.. To do this they rationalize what it means. They take other parts of the bible and construe it mean it is alright. Then there is that fact that god is suppose to be all powerful and all knowing. Yet you must pray to him to get what you want. You must follow a certian ritual to prove your love of him. Apparently he can not see into your heart.  Then we pray to the virgin mary to intercede for us. God doesn’t know all the facts and knowing all the facts he can not make an honest judgement?
